Auto Valley's car brands promoted in Xi'an

The 2023 Auto Valley Vehicle Brand and Investment Promotion Conference convened in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on June 8.

The event was hosted by the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ, also known as Auto Valley of China), located in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, and attended by senior government officials from Xi'an and Xianyang cities, representatives of local universities, entrepreneur confederations, and Shaanxi's hospitals which sent medics to help contain the pandemic in Wuhan in 2020.

Xi'an is dubbed as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and a strategic node in the Belt and Road Initiative. With auto-making as its pillar industry, Xi'an recorded over 1 million new energy vehicle (NEV) output last year, ranking first in China.

Considered a pivotal engine for Wuhan's industrial economy, WEDZ strives to create a 1-trillion-yuan ($141 billion) industrial innovation corridor, and its NEV production capacity is among the nation's first echelon.

At the meeting, Liu Ziqing, secretary of the zone's working committee, expressed hope that WEDZ and Xi'an can work together in deepening collaborations in industrial innovation and cultural exchange and give full play to their advantages in the automotive industry, innovation, and supply chains.

Also worth noting were WEDZ's vehicle brands, such as VOYAH's Zhuiguang and Dreamer, Lotus' Electre, Dongfeng Honda's e: NS1, and Dongfeng Nissan's ARIYA, capturing wide attention in Xi'an.

In addition, six car sales projects and eight investment projects were signed, with the total contract turnover exceeding 4 billion yuan.
