Aptiv, a global tech giant that delivers a full range of advanced connection solutions to make vehicles safer, greener, and more connected, has established 11 major technology centers and 131 manufacturing bases in 48 countries worldwide.

In 2007, Aptiv Electric System Co established its branch in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), providing wire harnesses and related services for Dongfeng Nissan, SAIC, and other automakers. Fifteen years later, the firm expanded its investment in the zone, building its connector system engineer center, its fourth research center in China.

"Since it was officially unveiled in March, the center has 37 engineers. We plan to increase the number to 60 by the end of this year and 100 by 2025," said Li Huibin, the company's engineering director in the Asia Pacific region.

During his speech, Li emphasized the strategic location of Wuhan and the many advantages it provides to businesses. With easy access to all areas of China, Wuhan is an attractive location for automotive companies and suppliers of vehicle parts, which can benefit from the city's transportation infrastructure. Additionally, the region boasts a wealth of scientific and educational resources, which ensure a consistent supply of top-tier talent for companies looking to expand their workforce. With all these factors working in its favor, it's easy to see why Wuhan continues to be a hub of economic activity and innovation in China.
