Smart auto software conference opens in Wuhan zone

The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) held the smart auto software conference on Sept 5, in which the Wuhan Smart Auto Software Industrial Park was founded and the three-year construction plan for the park was issued.

Zhang Yaqin, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yu Xiancheng, president of the GNSS & LBS Association of China, Yang Ju, deputy secretary general of the China Software Industry Association, senior members of local universities, including Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Technology, and Jianghan University, as well as representatives from Neusoft, iFlytek, CICT, and other domestic software heavyweights, attended the event.

Automobile intelligentization is considered a focal point for the future competition of automakers, and the ability to constantly improve the auto software will be the key to defining vehicles' functions.

Yang Ju highlighted software as the soul of intelligent vehicles and said that software and related services will become core competitiveness for the automotive sector.

Tang Chao, director of WEDZ's administrative committee, delivered a speech at the conference, inviting entrepreneurs and industry elites to invest in the newly established Wuhan Smart Auto Software Industrial Park and jointly build the auto valley industrial innovation corridor.

Ten project agreements were signed covering intelligent vehicles, smart cockpits, and high-end core chips.

The zone also cooperated with China's, Hubei's, and Wuhan's software associations and financial institutions to construct the industrial park together.
