The third-quarter commencement ceremony of major projects in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, was held on Sept 14.

Construction on the Central China Regional Emergency Rescue Center started last year, spurring the development of the zone's emergency industry. The National Emergency Medical Rescue Base, one of the new projects, will be built by Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. It will consist of a command center, training center, research center, and related supporting facilities to create an integrated emergency medical rescue system. It will allow for more timely response to public health emergencies.

Over the first half of the year, construction started on 55 key projects in the zone, 83.6 percent of which have been launched, ranking first in the city.
