The Jinyu Lanwan community in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) boasts many international residents who have played essential roles in the community construction and cultural exchanges.
At the community's 2023 commendation conference, the American foreign teacher James Ransom was recognized as the most beautiful resident in the community.
Having been in Wuhan for six years, James Ransom is enthusiastic about the community's public welfare and cultural affairs and has provided outstanding and constructive opinions. He often invites friends to try local food and has become a friendly bridge between the community and other international residents.
"The community is my home. I love living here, and people are hospitable. I can feel the kindness they've given me, and I hope I can contribute more to the cultural exchange between China and the United States," said James Ransom.

To celebrate the coming of the new year, Chinese and overseas residents in the community have staged a series of interactive games such as pitch-pot, dough figure making, and dragon dances.
