On Jan 22, the main construction of the Junshan Water Plant expansion project was completed in Junshan New City, located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).

Located along Jingkai Avenue, the first phase of the Junshan Water Plant was completed and put into operation in 2017. In recent years, Junshan New City has experienced rapid development, including the establishment of hospitals, campuses, and production bases, leading to a significant increase in water demand. In this regard, the expansion project for the Junshan Water Plant commenced construction in September 2022.

Several new infrastructure and facilities at the Junshan Water Plant were completed, including the sedimentation tank, drainage and silt removal tank, and clear water tank. Construction personnel are currently engaged in greening and construction site cleaning work.

The maximum daily water supply capacity of the Junshan Water Plant will now reach 180,000 metric tons, effectively meeting the water demand growth in the Junshan area for the next five to 10 years.

Additionally, a new smart water management platform has been established in the original control center of the Junshan Water Plant, utilizing digital twin technology to transform the plant and its facilities into a three-dimensional model. This platform provides a visual reflection of the structure and operational status, enabling remote monitoring by operating personnel, as well as full-process automation for tap water production control, fault diagnosis, and management.
