On Feb 3, the 2024 Auto Valley Spring Festival Consumption Season kicked off in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ). Despite the snow, many citizens came to the Wuhan Sports Center to shop for the Lunar New Year goods, enjoy performances, and appreciate folk customs, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

This event was guided by the Hubei Administration of Sport and the Wuhan municipal bureau of commerce, and it was hosted by the administrative committee of WEDZ. This 5-day event will run until Feb 7. Citizens can come to shop for New Year goods and also engage in activities such as playing sports, rock climbing, and fitness.
A straw dragon sculpture has been specially erected at the sports center. "I came early this morning," said a resident surnamed Ma. He said that despite the cold weather, he was delighted to see many time-honored brands, traditional folk customs, and intangible cultural heritage displays at the event.

The head of the zone's bureau of commerce stated that this event marks the beginning of a series of activities in the WEDZ aimed at stabilizing growth and promoting consumption. This year, the zone strives to boost consumption by holding exhibitions and promotions for new energy products, smart cars, and home appliances.
