The Modern Service Industrial Park of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has a total area of 38 square kilometers and is a major engine of the zone's economic growth. The park has generated 160.71 billion yuan ($22.39 billion) in total output and sales and about 7.02 billion yuan in taxes.
About 78.26 percent of registered businesses in WEDZ are in the park, which is also home to 26 Fortune 500 companies, six listed corporations, 102 financial institutions, and 340 Sishang enterprises (referring to enterprises above a designated size in the industry, real estate, construction, wholesale and retail, accommodation and catering sectors).
A total of 51 renowned firms, including Dongfeng Motor Co, China Urban and Rural Holding Group Co, and China Communications Construction Co, have established their headquarters in the park. A modern industrial system revolving around the headquarters economy, modern finance, high-end business affairs, and digital economy has taken shape in the park.
Additionally, the park boasts 10 innovative industrial areas, 14 sci-tech innovation platforms, 196 high-tech enterprises, 15 gazelle companies, and 89 sci-tech little giant firms.

Among people working in the park, three are benefiting from special allowances provided by the State Council, four have won municipal or district-level talent titles, and more than 30,000 have bachelor's degrees.
A number of high-quality educational, medical and business service resources are also available in the park, such as Jianghan University, Wuhan Yangtze International School, Wuhan Asia General Hospital, and Wuhan Sports Center.
