Junshan New City is in the center of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), with a planned area of 121 square meters, featuring 14 lakes and 13 mountains within or near it.
The new city was designed to advance the headquarters economy, sci-tech R&D, high-end manufacturing, and modern services, and is divided into four areas and one park for sci-tech innovation, smart manufacturing, culture and tourism, and other purposes.

A group of key projects with significant investments has settled in the new city, including Lotus's global headquarters project, SPIC's hydrogen energy industrial base and R&D center project, and Cummins East Asia R&D Center project.
In addition, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, and other top colleges have established research institutions there.
