WEDZ-Belgium conference strengthens Sino-European trade ties

On May 16, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ)-Belgium Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference was held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Over 60 representatives from Chinese and Belgian enterprises gathered to discuss new trends, challenges, and opportunities in economic and trade cooperation.

The event was hosted by the management committee of the zone, organized by the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and presided over by Erik Famaey, a board member of the chamber.

In his speech, Liu Ziqing, secretary of the WEDZ working committee, stated that Belgium, located in the heart of Europe, is the trade, logistics, political, and cultural center of the European Union. It is also a significant gateway for the export of Chinese automobiles to the continent, and has a long-standing cooperative relationship with Wuhan and WEDZ in economy and trade, culture, and education.

Entrepreneurs from companies such as Lotus Tech Innovation Center and Zhenxiang Smart Medical Equipment (Wuhan) Co also spoke at the conference.
