On June 4, at the 2024 Wuhan Seed Industry Expo, four seed industry projects were signed into effect in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
These projects include a canola industrial chain project, Wuhan Huachang Seed Industry Science Park, Hubei Chutian Smart Agriculture Science Park, and the National Molecular Breeding Innovation Service Platform Central China Sub-center, with a total investment of 528 million yuan ($74.45 million).
The expo is one of the most influential seed industry exhibitions in China, featuring on-site displays of new seed varieties, academic exchanges, business negotiations, technology promotion, science education, and leisure tourism.

In recent years, WEDZ has invested a total of 274 million yuan to enhance urban and rural infrastructure capabilities, providing over 45 million yuan in support to 10 seed industry enterprises.
