The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) launched a campaign to promote its automobile industry and Hubei province's tea industry on Aug 16.
The initiative features a convoy consisting of one Dongfeng M-Hero 917, two Voyah Frees, and six Voyah Dreams. Over the course of 39 days, the convoy will travel more than 18,000 kilometers, visiting nine cities including Beijing, Harbin, Hohhot, Yinchuan, Xi'an, Urumqi, Lhasa, and Kunming.
"Hubei's premium tea will spread its fragrance across the country via automobiles produced by Dongfeng, a renowned Chinese automotive brand", said Xiao Fuqing, director of the Hubei Provincial Tea Association.
At the launch ceremony, Xiao also announced the list of authorized enterprises for Hubei Premium Tea and the itinerary for the border tour. Seven individuals were appointed as ambassadors to promote the fine tea.
In addition, Voyah Automotive Technology Co, a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor, and Hubei Lichuanhong Group Co, dedicated to processing high-quality black tea, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen cooperation in areas such as brand promotion and market expansion.
The campaign is a part of efforts by WEDZ, home to the headquarters of Dongfeng Motor, to promote the integration of high-end cars and fine tea. The zone also launched a coastal tour from April to May this year, promoting Hubei tea in 17 coastal cities, with the tour ending in Hangzhou.
Furthermore, the zone will continue to promote automotive brand marketing activities, striving to stimulate consumption and ensure steady growth and injecting strong momentum into both the automotive distribution and production sectors.
