The Wuhan International Circuit in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) welcomed over 100 residents for a Public Day event on Nov 16.

This unique opportunity allowed participants to experience the thrill of high-speed racing in their neighborhood.

Among the guests was racing enthusiast Ye Zizheng, a 26-year-old Wuhan native who shared his excitement about the new local track. "I used to travel to Zhuzhou, Hunan province, to race. Now, I can do it right here at home," Ye said. Comparing the two tracks, he noted that the Wuhan International Circuit is more modern and challenging.

The event showcased a wide range of cars, from entry-level racers like the Toyota 86, GT86, Mini Coopers, and Subaru BRZ to popular models such as the Lynk & Co 03+, AMG A35L, CLA45, and Audi TTS. High-performance vehicles like the BMW M3, M4, Porsche 911, and Ferrari FF also made an appearance alongside other popular models like Lotus, Tesla, and Xiaomi SU7 Max.

The event wasn't just for adults; it was a family affair. Liu Jierui, a 10-year-old student from Sanjiaohu Primary School in WEDZ, impressed attendees with his extensive knowledge of cars.

The Wuhan International Circuit is China's first eco-friendly international-grade track built along a natural riverbank. Since August, it has been operated by Mitime Group. "The track's facilities and equipment are still being improved," said Xu Xuesong, the circuit's operations manager. Plans include the construction of safety barriers, pit garages, and a smart operation system.

Mitime Group announced that Public Day events would continue with more high-level automotive races and cultural activities to promote the development of China's motorsport and automotive culture.
