Wang Jianqing, an NPC deputy from Dongfeng Trucks Co in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), shared the company's breakthroughs in new energy and intelligent technology during the third session of the 14th National People's Congress on March 6.
Wang emphasized Dongfeng's 56-year automotive manufacturing legacy, highlighting its remarkable achievements, technological advancements, ability to overcome critical bottleneck challenges, and progress in the development of new energy vehicles.
In 2024, Dongfeng Motor produced 860,000 new energy vehicles, marking a 64 percent year-on-year increase. The Dongfeng Voyah Dream has emerged as a leader in the new energy MPV market, with one in every three high-end MPVs sold in China being a Voyah Dream.
The automotive industry is currently experiencing an unprecedented transformation. "As a skilled industrial worker, I must adapt to the new era, embrace change with an open mindset, and strive to excel in 'AI' automotive craftsmanship," Wang said.
Wang intends to make suggestions to foster a fair competitive environment within the automotive industry. He advocates for enhanced regulation of online platforms and establishing an industry self-regulation mechanism to promote fair competition and healthy development in the sector.
