Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) recently welcomed the first residents to its innovative new community. The newly constructed building has already received praise from residents.

"Settling into the international talent community has made my work and life much more convenient," said Ms Xiang with a smile as she surveyed her new home. "I can enjoy sunlight right in my room, and my commute is just one stop away. It's truly my 'dream home'," she added.

The community, located near Metro Lines 3 and 6 and just across from the Dongfeng Motor Headquarters, offers excellent connectivity. It is well-equipped with amenities such as Wanda Plaza and Wuhan Sports Center, and features 385 furnished apartments designed to meet the diverse needs of high-caliber talent, making it a truly "move-in ready" experience.

Residents also benefit from shared spaces, including a public living room, shared kitchen, gym, cafe, and yoga studio.

Xiang, a recent graduate now working in WEDZ, applied for residency online. "With rental subsidies, a more convenient commute, and enhanced amenities, everything I need — shopping, fitness, entertainment — is within reach," she noted.

The community also plans to host a variety of regular events, including salons, networking sessions, team-building activities, fitness classes, and craft workshops, providing a platform for intellectual exchange, social interaction, and relaxation.

WEDZ has implemented a talent-focused strategy, launching the Talent 3.0 policy to support talent development with substantial financial backing. The zone now hosts 35 talent apartment projects, offering nearly 8,000 units with a 95 percent occupancy rate.

A local official emphasized the commitment to creating an exceptional environment and comprehensive mechanisms to attract global talent, enabling diverse professionals to thrive in the zone's innovative landscape.
