Hohhot leader urges improvement of transport links

2017-02-10

Yun Guanzhong, secretary of Hohhot's Party committee, made an inspection tour to downtown areas suffering from traffic problems on Jan 15, giving instructions on how to prevent and deal with congestion.

Yuan noted that traffic departments should spare no effort in ensuring smooth traffic during the Spring Festival period.

"Police officers from the capital city should set good examples for other cities in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, giving suggestions on city road traffic management,” he said.

Yun made inspection tours to Simao road, Jiaoxiao road and the road in front of Inner Mongolia Hospital, learning about the current traffic management systems in the city.

He also went to Genghis Khan Street and Zhongshan West Street, taking the opportunity to view the construction work for himself. He expressed his thanks on behalf of the Hohhot Party and government for their hard work in 2016 and expressed his best wishes for the Year of the Rooster.

Yun noted that Hohhot has some weaknesses in its development. He urged officials to troubleshoot and solve problems with the city’s development. He encouraged building three-dimensional transportation in Hohhot to ease traffic congestion.

He also urged government at all levels to enhance leadership and build working mechanisms to improve the transportation network of the city.
