2017-03-30

Yili, China’s leading dairy company, announced the launch of a new type of milk powder product at Yili Oceania Production Base (YOPB) in New Zealand on March 25.

The announcement was made at the inauguration ceremony of the second stage of the YOPB project.

The new type of milk powder product is called “Ruihu” and is being released under its Pro-Kido brand that has integrated New Zealand’s milk industry with Chinese production and management techniques.

At the inauguration ceremony, many Chinese merchants signed agreements with Yili Oceania Production Base. Ruihu will be sold in supermarkets, online, and in maternal and infant stores.

YOPB is located in the South Canterbury area of New Zealand’s South Island, which is well known for its pristine natural environment and thriving dairy industry.

Supported by both the governments of China and New Zealand, the production base is the largest integrated dairy production base in the world.

The yearly output of milk can reach more than 8 million tons, which accounts for 41.7 percent of the country’s total.

Last November, Chinese leaders and New Zealand Prime Minister John Key jointly unveiled the first stage of the YOPB project.

The whole project covers packaging, production, processing and research and development.
