The first subway train for the Hohhot Metro Line 1 arrived for on-site testing at Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 4.
These subway cars will be ready to start trail operations in Hohhot at the end of this year.
They are designed and manufactured by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd and rolled off production line in Changchun on Jan 13.
The new subway cars will operate at top speeds of 80 kilometers per hour, with the maximum passenger capacity of 2,062 people.
Featuring cutting-edge ventilation equipment and a frequency conversion control system, they aim to offer a more comfortable experience for passengers.
According to the Hohhot subway authority, it is the lightest aluminum-alloy subway train in the country, at some 10 metric tons lighter than the contract required, helping greatly reduce its energy consumption.
