A nearly 300-year-old Bodhi tree in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region bloomed throughout the four-day May Day holiday, which concluded on May 4. The tree attracted crowds of visitors.
The Bodhi tree is located in western Wusutu village, 10 kilometers away from the city's urban area. It blooms in May every year.
The tree originally came from Qinghai province in 1725 and was the only of its kind in northern China.
Buddhists regard Bodhi trees as a symbol of enlightenment, and the tree's flowers are associated with happiness.
