The 10th International Senior Economic Consultative Conference of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province was held in Xi’an, capital city of Shaanxi, from Sept 3 to 5. Pan Gang, CEO of Yili Industrial Group Co Ltd (Yili Group), was invited to serve as a senior consultant for the conference.

A number of businesspeople from 65 enterprises in 18 countries and regions attended the three-day conference and discussed the economic development of Shaanxi. 

As the only consultant from the food industry, Pan Gang recognized the development potential of Shaanxi. He said that the province has been a Silk Road transportation hub since ancient times and boasts strong industries and a rich culture. 

He proposed that Yili Group work with Shaanxi to strengthen cooperation in global markets and build a regional dairy industry that is internationally competitive 

The company has already begun building high-end dairy production centers in Shaanxi, and by June 2019, it had invested 2.17 billion yuan ($304.51 million) in the province’s dairy industry. 

The conference was launched by Shaanxi province in 2002, and has been attended by a total of 326 consultants. Participants had founded a combined total of 49 wholly-owned or joint venture enterprises with a total investment of more than 182 billion yuan in Shaanxi.
