Twenty-one tons of disinfectant were delivered to Inner Mongolia Red Cross Society on Jan 31. The consignment is part of a large donation of supplies from Yili Industrial Group which is set to be delivered to healthcare providers in Wuhan, Hubei province.

The domestic dairy giant has donated 100 million yuan ($14.42 million) to fight coronavirus, with 60 million yuan earmarked for China Red Cross Society.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, medical supplies have been in short supply in many cities, according to Yili. But the company has utilized its global supply chain to source resources from around the world to fight the disease, with large purchases of masks and disinfectant. 

Jiang Liguang, director of the Disaster Preparedness and Rescue Training Center of Inner Mongolia Red Cross Society, said that the medical supplies would help relieve shortages in the region.

Yili Group also delivered 20,000 cartons of milk to Wuhan medical staff during Spring Festival and allocated more than 100,000 boxes of dairy products to hospitals across 27 provinces.
