Yili sends more supplies to help fight virus
A number of 12,910 medical rubber boots and eight tons of medical alcohol were delivered by Yili Industrial Group to Inner Mongolia Red Cross Society in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 1, according to local officials.
The consignment is the second part of a large donation of supplies from Yili Group to be delivered to healthcare institutions in Wuhan in Hubei province, after 21 tons of disinfectant was delivered on Jan 31.
To date, the domestic dairy giant has donated 100 million yuan ($14.42 million) to fight the coronavirus, with 60 million yuan earmarked for the China Red Cross Society.
According to Yili, medical supplies have been in short supply in many cities since the outbreak of the epidemic in January.
A company spokesman said the group has utilized its global supply chain to source resources from around the world to fight the disease, with large purchases of masks and disinfectants.
Yili will send more supplies such as face masks, medical goggles and disinfection equipment to Inner Mongolia in the coming week.
So far, it has delivered 20,000 cartons of milk to Wuhan medical staff and allocated more than 100,000 boxes of dairy products to hospitals across 27 provinces.
