Nanhu Wetland Park in Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has had a major upgrade with more functional zones added, according to a report in the Hohhot Evening News.

An agricultural sightseeing area was added in the scenic area, featuring grapevines and plum trees.

According to staff members, the main purpose of the agricultural sightseeing area is to showcase farming culture, so that people living in the city, especially children, can learn more about farming.

A large field of flowers was prepared last year and opened to the public recently, featuring seasonal flowers, decorated with potted plants.

The entire flower field has been configured in the shape of a Chinese knot, which can be appreciated from the sky. A pavilion is located in the center of the Chinese knot and the scenery can be seen in the pavilion.

Nanhu Wetland Park, located at Yuquan district, covers a total area of 1,167 hectares.

It is an ecological landscape built by the local government of Hohhot in 2005.

The park consists of five areas including a wetland area, a fishing area, a grassland area and an agricultural area. It was opened to the public in September 2007.
