Hohhot convenes China-Mongolia-Russia think tank forum

A video conference for the China-Mongolia-Russia Think Tank Forum was held on July 21 in Hohhot, capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to local media reports.
The event was presided over by Yang Chenhua, director of the Inner Mongolia Development Research Center.
The event -- themed around Fighting the Epidemic and Promoting the Construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor -- invited experts and scholars from think tanks in China, Mongolia and Russia.
They discussed and exchanged opinions on topics including opportunities and challenges for the high-quality joint construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, as well as new measures and new paths to deepen the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor for mutually beneficial outcomes.
Focusing on how to promote the development of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor under the novel coronavirus epidemic situation, the participating experts gave five suggestions.
The first was to encourage all parties to jointly tackle the current problems.
The second was to promote the comprehensive development of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. The third was to further deepen exchanges.
The fourth was to promote cooperation in key areas of the three countries in compliance with the United Nations Global Compact and to accelerate realization of industrial synergy and production and supply chain integration in the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. The fifth suggestion was to promote trilateral cooperation in forwards-looking fields.
The conference also witnessed the approval and release of an important development from the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor Think Tank Cooperation Agency.
Officials said this was the Initiative on Jointly Promoting International Cooperation in the Prevention and Control of the COVID-19 and the High-quality Development of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
