Hohhot tea industry expo gets set to open mid-August
The eighth China Hohhot Tea Industry Expo is set to open on Aug 14 in Hohhot, capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to local media reports.
The expo will be jointly hosted by the Inner Mongolia branch of the China Chamber of International Commerce and Yatai East Exhibition Group.
This year's tea expo has an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters, with a total of 228 international stands and 20 special stands.
The displays will cover six traditional tea products, as well as industry supply chain products such as fine tea utensils, tea sets and tea packaging designs.
Officials said Hohhot is a city with extremely diverse cultures and ethnic characteristics, with its own profound tea culture and it also has a huge consumer market for tea.
They said that starting with this year’s tea expo, promotions of its tea-drinking culture will be upgraded from industry exhibitions to publicity campaigns aimed at its residents.
With its theme of “Fragrant Tea, Taste Qingcheng,” Hohhot residents will get the chance to experience the charms of their tea culture while drinking a cuppa or two.
