A total of 12 scenic areas in Hohhot, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- including the Suiyuan General Government Office Museum -- is currently open to the public at no charge, according to local media reports.

Nine popular scenic spots -- including Daqingshan Wildlife Park, Shenquan Eco-tourism Scenic Area and the Baishi Eco-tourism Area -- have also issued promotions that include ticket discounts for national college entrance examinees and medical workers.

Officials said that all star-rated hotels have launched a promotion running to Sept 15, with discounts of 10-69 percent in room prices.
