The Zhelimu Road Overpass (the North Second Ring Expressway to Gulou Overpass section) opened to traffic on Aug 20.

The elevated road is located in the central urban area of Hohhot, the capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, starting from Xinhua Street in the south and ending at North Second Ring Road in the north.

The overpass has a main road and an auxiliary road – both designated as ‘urban main roads’ – and is approximately 4.8 kilometers in length.

The overpass development includes three important nodes, namely Gulou Interchange, Shangshang Railway Interchange and North Second Ring Interchange.

Four on- and off-ramps service the elevated road. The main road's speed limit is 60 kilometers per hour, while the auxiliary road’s maximum speed is 40km/h, and the interchange ramp is 30-40km/h.
