Hohhot records sci-tech innovation highlights in 2020

Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, further implemented its innovation-driven development strategy in 2020, achieving outstanding results in science and technology development, according to local media reports.
The autonomous region issued 110 million yuan ($16.97 million) of key special funds for science and technology development in Hohhot city in 2020.
In 2020, Hohhot implemented 23 major scientific and technological projects with an investment of 45 million yuan. It has implemented 47 application research and development projects with an investment of 12 million yuan.
At present, the city has a total of 197 innovation platform carriers of various levels and 441 research and development institutions of various levels.
Throughout the year, Hohhot added three national maker spaces, seven autonomous region-level enterprise research and development centers, 10 municipal-level enterprise research and development centers, and five municipal-level engineering technology centers.
Hohhot has made full use of the country's science and technology policies, actively linking scientific research institutes and key universities to launch in-depth cooperation in production, education and research.
In 2020, a total of 124 technology contracts were recognized and registered, and the contract transaction volume was 1.02 billion yuan, an increase of 40.5 percent over 2019. Of this total, the technology transaction volume was 464 million yuan, an increase of 57.3 percent over 2019.
