Hohhot eyes grass husbandry, new industrial park to be developed
Construction work on the National Grass Husbandry Park in Horinger county, Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has officially started.
The industrial park, to be developed by Inner Mongolia Caodu Grass Husbandry Co, will cover an area of 1,440 mu (96 hectares), with an investment of 500 million yuan ($78.55 million).
The project will build a national demonstration zone for the application of scientific and technological achievements to grass and animal husbandry, a modern agriculture demonstration zone, an agricultural science and technology demonstration base, a demonstration park for the integration of rural revitalization industries, and a national grass and animal husbandry supply chain innovation and application pilot.
The industrial park plans to build "one platform, six centers, and one research institute".
These will include the national digital grass and animal husbandry trading platform, the national grass and animal husbandry service innovation research and development center, a settlement center, a big data center, a storage and classification center, a forage and beef cattle germplasm resource research and development center, a grass and animal husbandry testing and diagnosis center, and a national grass and animal husbandry research institute.
The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in October 2021.
