Hohhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been making good progress in the development of Yili Modern Smart Health Valley, accelerating the upgrading of the dairy industry's structure, as well as boosting the scale and professionalism of the sector, according to local media reports.
The dairy industry is one of the city's most competitive industries. During the next five-year period, Hohhot will promote the downstream extension of the industrial chain, and boost the value chain to the mid-to-high end.
The Yili project has been included as a key project for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) of both the autonomous region and Hohhot. It is of great significance to Hohhot in terms of its development into an upgraded version of "China's Dairy City".

Since the beginning of 2021, Hohhot has been actively attracting investment in related industries such as milk source bases, technological innovation, marketing, e-commerce, logistics, and packaging.
As of the end of May, construction work on the liquid milk production base, the high-end infant milk powder production base, and the National Dairy Technology Innovation Center had all started.
Hohhot has implemented its Preferential Policies for Investment Promotion in Hohhot Dairy Development Zone to fully promote the construction of the Yili Modern Smart Health Valley Project.
