The health authority of Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has added 20 temporary nucleic acid sampling sites in its four districts to improve nucleic acid test services for COVID-19.
Locals can receive tests at nearby temporary sampling sites without an appointment, avoiding risks brought about by large crowds at testing sites. However, once the city starts large-scale nucleic acid testing, all temporary sampling sites will suspend services.

As of 11:00 on Feb 17, Hohhot has reported seven local confirmed cases of COVID-19, all of which have been isolated and treated at designated hospitals, and all close contacts have been quarantined for medical observation.
Since 23:00 on Feb 16, Xiangheyuan Community and Kuntai Community (Third Residential Quarter) in Yuquan district, and Yihejiayuan Community in the city's Saihan district, where the confirmed cases were found, have been classified as medium-risk areas.

Hohhot will formulate further nucleic acid testing plans based on the current results and epidemiological results among key populations. Corresponding epidemic prevention and control measures have been taken.
The city's medical protective equipment is adequately stocked and capable of meeting the requirements of two rounds of nucleic acid testing for all locals, 37 types of emergency equipment are adequately stocked, and subsistence supplies are available and reasonably priced.
