Inner Mongolia reports 22 new local COVID-19 cases
North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reported 22 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases throughout the course of Feb 17, according to local health authorities.
Fourteen cases were reported in the region's capital city Hohhot and one case was reported in the city of Baotou, the Inner Mongolia Health Commission said in a statement.
Hohhot's Xincheng district had 11 confirmed cases, Yuquan district had one confirmed case, Saihan district had five confirmed cases, Huimin district had one, Tumd Left Banner two and Wuchuan county one.
The Baotou confirmed case was reported from the city's Hondlon district.
The 22 patients have been admitted to designated hospitals for treatment. Epidemiological investigations and further screening for potential infections are currently underway.
By the end of Feb 17, Inner Mongolia had a total of 32 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and one imported asymptomatic infection case under medical treatment.
Their close contacts had all been placed under quarantine for medical observation at designated sites, the commission said.
