Hohhot city sees big drop in new local COVID-19 cases
Hohhot city – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – has seen a big drop in its new local COVID-19 cases, with the number standing at 420 as of March 7, according to local media reports.
As a result, to date, some 257 patients have reportedly been cured and discharged from hospitals in the city.
For severe and critically ill patients, under the guidance of a national expert group, a diagnosis and treatment plan that implements integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has been adopted.
Under it, patients with mild symptoms should be cured as early as possible, while any transition from mild symptoms to severe diseases should be minimized. Moreover, Hohhot is providing differentiated diagnosis and treatment strategies for special patients, such as the elderly and children.
At the same time, Hohhot has strengthened its isolation and rehabilitation management, and its health monitoring of cured and discharged patients.
On March 8, one high-risk area in the city was downgraded to a low-risk area, with eight medium-risk areas adjusted to being low-risk areas. After the adjustment, there remained six high-risk areas and 42 medium-risk areas in Hohhot.
