Hohhot to construct four hospitals in 2022
To help residents see a doctor more easily, Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will resume or start construction on four hospitals this year.
This was announced at a press conference held by the Hohhot municipal people's government on March 29.
According to the plan, Hohhot is expected to resume construction on the Second Hohhot Municipal Hospital.
It has a planned floor area of 108,000 square meters and is designed to accommodate 500 beds.
Construction on the hospital started in April 2021 and the A and B zones of the hospital’s emergency building are scheduled to be completed this year.
The other hospital resuming construction is the medical and nursing center of the Hohhot Mongolian-Chinese Medicine Hospital.
It has a planned floor area of 71,000 sq m and is expected to house 728 beds. Construction on the center began in September 2020 and is scheduled to have its main structure completed in August this year.
In addition, construction will start on the Hohhot Mental Health Center and the Hohhot Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Institute, which are designed to accommodate 290 beds and 100 beds, respectively.
The hospitals are expected to further improve the city's medical resources, make up for shortcomings in health services, and make it easier to seek medical treatment for local residents.
