Hohhot – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – has recently been implementing measures to encourage university graduates to find employment or start businesses in the city, according to local media reports.
Under the plan, during the current year, more than 30,000 university graduates are expected to be recruited for employment or start their own businesses in Hohhot.
The metropolis has issued a guide called 10 Policies for Attracting Talents in Hohhot (for Trial Implementation), in a move to expand recruitment of top-flight people and boost regional economic growth, the media reports added.
Hohhot is said to be attaching great importance to the employment of qualified young people and has taken the lead in the autonomous region in implementing measures such as housing projects for graduates.
The city has launched a program aimed at bringing 100,000 of them to find employment there. To that end, it has successively introduced support policies for graduates to buy houses at half price, secured loans for entrepreneurship and offered one-off entrepreneurship subsidies, providing a full range of service guarantees for graduate employment and entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the city plans to boost the issuance of guaranteed entrepreneur loans for graduates. It will fully implement a policy of guarantee-free loans below 100,000 yuan ($15,710) for business start-ups and loans of up to 500,000 yuan for graduates, and grant loans of 50 million yuan to graduates throughout the year.
