Hohhot Customs – in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – recently issued 21 detailed measures in order to boost its operational capabilities and to reduce the burden on foreign trading companies and increase their efficiency.
The measures cover areas, including ensuring the smooth flow of import and export goods at ports, and improving the time limit for the inspection and release of China-Europe trains.
It's expected that they will ensure the smooth flow of inbound and outbound postal routes and make things much easier for imports and exports of COVID-19 vaccines and testing reagents.
Under the measures, customs will ensure the rapid entry and exit of goods. It will also encourage enterprises to adopt the railway's "quick customs clearance" mode and improve its 24/7 appointment clearance mechanism.
In addition, Hohhot Customs will support the opening of Ereenhot and Baotou airports, and the year-round opening of Wuliji port.
In order to remove the backlog of inbound and outbound parcels affected by the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Hohhot Customs mail supervision site insists on 24/7 and expedited inspections on arrival, and is increasing the frequency of inspections.
Furthermore, plans are for Hohhot Customs to improve the efficiency of approvals for imports and exports of COVID-19 vaccines and testing reagents. It will help enterprises make good use of the policy dividends from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP, a powerful new trading bloc of nations in the Asia-Pacific region.
It will also speed up registrations and filings by import and export food production enterprises and support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to carry out market procurement trades.
