The 14th Hohhot International Auto Show opened with great fanfare on June 30 in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to local media reports.
It is the first large-scale auto show held in Inner Mongolia this year, as well as the first major exhibition in the region.
After 13 years of development, the auto show is said to have become an important platform for major auto brands to display their new models and new technologies, gaining widespread influence and appeal in the auto industry in Inner Mongolia.

This year's session attracted more than 80 exhibiting brands, bringing some 700 auto models to the show.
The exhibitors cover almost all auto brands from the mainstream global manufacturers. They include luxury brands Porsche, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW; joint venture brands GAC Toyota, GAC Honda, and GAC Mitsubishi and independent brands Hongqi, Geely Automobile and BYD.
During the five-day event, 12 new car launches will be held, releasing 13 new auto models.
Prospective buyers at the auto show have been given an added inducement to make purchases there.
According to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration on May 31, vehicle purchase tax can be reduced by half for cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters and below -- and at a price (excluding VAT) not exceeding 300,000 yuan ($44,730) -- that are purchased between June 1 and Dec 31 this year.
