2022-07-08 (chinadaily.com.cn)

A dedicated international internet data channel was launched on July 6 in the Horinger New Area of Hohhot – capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – representing the first of its kind in the region, according to a report in the Inner Mongolia Daily.

It is expected to boost the efficiency and quality of connections between enterprises in the autonomous region and the world – providing strong support for Inner Mongolia's cross-regional and cross-border computing power scheduling, settlements and data applications, as well as research and development.

The data channel is directly connected to the Internet International Exit and Entry Bureau. Currently, it mainly covers the Yungu area and the airport area of Horinger New Area, as well as key industry parks such as the Horinger Dairy Development Zone, the Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Hohhot Jinshan High Tech Industrial Development Zone.

The channel is projected to improve the new area's international communications network performance and the experience of local companies visiting international websites.

Also, it should boost the quality of international telecommunications services and the local business environment – effectively guaranteeing the operations of the foreign-related business of companies and the management of their branches, as well as supporting the new area's goal of developing new industrial clusters.

The new channel covers the dairy, energy and biomedicine sectors, as well as international finance, international logistics and cross-border e-commerce. It will also cover international headquarters and other industrial institutions in the region.
