North China's Hohhot city promotes new energy taxis
Hohhot city – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – is maneuvering to boost the levels of new energy taxis there, according to local media reports.
It follows the launch of a key initiative – the New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035) – issued by the General Office of the State Council.
Starting from 2021, public areas of national ecological civilization pilot zones and the key areas for air pollution prevention and control started adding or updating vehicles such as buses, rentals and logistics and distribution vehicles. The aim is that the proportion of new energy vehicles in Hohhot will be at least 80 percent.
As an important central city in the northern border areas of China, Hohhot has in recent years taken the lead in promoting the use of new energy vehicles – in government agencies, public transport companies, taxi companies, colleges and universities and large enterprises.
