Major Yili milk source projects to settle in Hohhot, agreements signed

The supporting milk source projects of the Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley Global Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmark Base plans are expected to be established in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with a signing ceremony held on Aug 18, according to local media reports.
At the ceremony, the people's government of Togtoh county signed an investment cooperation agreement with Tianjin Jialihe Animal Husbandry Group and Jinyang Group on the construction of the 180,000-headed dairy cow green and smart breeding demonstration park in the county.
The four milk source base projects will all be located in the Togtoh county's cow breeding demonstration park, covering a total area of 5,800 mu (387 hectares) with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan ($323 million).
Hohhot is making great strides in stepping up the development of its dairy industry. The sector is widely viewed as one of the city's most competitive areas, with a full industry supply chain planned, and Hohhot is widely recognized as China's dairy capital.
Hohhot is home to two major dairy companies, Yili and Mengniu, both of which are among the top 10 global dairy enterprises with an output value of over 200 billion yuan each.
In 2021, Hohhot revised and refined its policies for the development of its dairy sector to pave the way for the establishment of more pastures.
According to data released by the Hohhot finance bureau, from 2019 to 2021 Hohhot received 150 million yuan in special funds for the vitalization of the dairy industry from higher levels, and at the municipal level it invested 170 million yuan in various types of dairy industry revitalization funds.
