Hohhot advances recruitment drive targeting uni graduates
Hohhot – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – has made substantial progress in recruiting university and college graduates to work there and is also promoting sci-tech innovation in the city.
The metropolis is prioritizing hiring smart young people and has taken the lead in the region in rolling out incentives and other measures designed to lure them, including housing projects for graduates.
It has launched a program aimed at bringing in 100,000 university graduates to find employment there. To that end, it has successively introduced support policies for graduates to buy houses at half price, secured loans for entrepreneurship and offered one-off entrepreneurship subsidies. Overall, it is providing a full range of guaranteed services for graduate employment and entrepreneurship.
The city has fully implemented a start-up subsidy program. College graduates who start their own businesses and who meet the conditions can apply for a maximum of 500,000 yuan ($72,273) in guaranteed entrepreneurial loan support.
Small and micro-sized enterprises can apply for up to 3 million yuan. Those with good development prospects and more employees can apply for a guaranteed loan of up to 6 million yuan.
Hohhot has organized and implemented entrepreneurial training programs and to date has completed the training of more than 1,600 college students.
A series of jobs fairs were launched in the city in July, with some 31,000 employment opportunities offered by 824 enterprises in Hohhot's six major industries.
Furthermore, Hohhot has also optimized its talent policy and streamlined its 17 existing policies to support the employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates.
These cover such areas as supporting enterprises to stabilize and expand their workforces and encouraging college graduates to start their own businesses.
