Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co – also known as Yili Group – stole the limelight on Sept 12 at the IDF World Dairy Summit held in New Delhi, India, winning two awards.

Yili was the only dairy company from China that was invited to the global event.

Zhang Jianqiu, senior executive president of Yili Group, delivered a speech via video link, as well as exchanging views on the future direction of the dairy industry with others at the summit.

Yili's Construction and Application of a Food Safety Risk Analysis Model for Dairy Enterprise Projects won the Food Safety Innovation Award. To top it off, its cheese product won the New Product Development Innovation Award, making Yili the only dairy enterprise in the world to win two awards at the summit.

What's more, Yili is the only company in China's dairy industry to have won the IDF Food Safety Innovation Award.

The International Dairy Foundation, or IDF, is an international dairy association that is based in Brussels. It was established at the first International Dairy Conference in 1903 and has served the global dairy industry for more than 100 years.

At present, the IDF has 43 member countries and their milk production accounts for 75 percent of the world's total milk output.

The IDF World Dairy Summit is one of the largest dairy sector events internationally and is regarded as a weather vane, pointing the way towards the development of the global dairy industry.

The IDF Dairy Innovation Awards aim to encourage innovation. They are seen as the most influential and authoritative awards, representing the highest achievements each year in industry development.
