Chinese dairy giant Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, or Yili – based in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was a dairy partner of the G20 Indonesia 2022 Summit held on Nov 15-16, under the theme of "Recover Together, Recover Stronger".

This marked the second partnership established between Yili and the G20 Summit, after the company served its products at the G20 Hangzhou Summit in 2016.

During the G20 Indonesia Summit, Yili also joined hands with the Coral Reef Ecological Restoration Project in the Komodo National Park in that country to jointly promote global biodiversity conservation with the G20.

At the same time, Joyday ice cream produced by Yili – as the summit's designated ice cream – was served to political and business representatives at the event.

On Dec 10, 2021, the first phase project of the Yili Indonesia Dairy Production Base – the largest ice cream factory in Indonesia – was completed and started operations.

This is the largest production facility built by a Chinese dairy company in Southeast Asia. It forms a dual center for Yili – with the production plant in Thailand – to serve the Southeast Asian market and liaise with the group's supply chains in Asia, Europe, America and Oceania.

To date, Joyday ice cream is reported to have sold well in Indonesia and has been exported to Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam and other countries and regions.

Yili's globalization is accelerating. It now has 15 R&D and innovation centers and 75 production plants around the world, and has established partnerships with more than 2,000 companies internationally, with its products now exported to more than 60 countries and regions.
