Yili Group wins highest innovation award in dairy industry

Chinese dairy giant Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, or Yili stole the limelight at the 28th Annual Meeting of the China Dairy Industry Association held on Nov 29, winning top innovation awards, according to local media reports.
The dairy giant – based in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was awarded the "China Dairy Industry High-Quality Development Enterprise Award" and won 15 awards. These included the sector's highest innovation award, the "Technical Progress Award Special Award" and the "Technical Invention Award Special Award" for its formidable strength in innovation.

As a leader in the dairy industry over the years, Yili has closely focused on the key areas of international dairy R&D and integrated R&D resources at home and abroad. It has built a global innovation network covering the world's leading R&D institutions – and actively created an open innovation ecosystem for the dairy industry.
In its European innovation center, Yili cooperates with Wageningen University in the Netherlands, a top university in the field of life sciences. It also works in Europe with other universities and scientific research institutions, to conduct all-round exploration of the latest cutting-edge technologies in the food field.
Elsewhere, Yili cooperates with Lincoln University in New Zealand, a leading agricultural and food university in the southern hemisphere, to carry out technological innovation research on the entire dairy industry supply chain, in its Oceania innovation center.
At its Shanghai innovation center, Yili continues to carry out innovative work – such as probiotic research and PET product development – to explore a higher level of scientific research in the dairy industry.
So far, Yili's global innovation network has basically been completed, with 15 innovation centers in Asia, Europe, Oceania and other places – actively participating in major scientific research projects in the dairy industry at home and abroad.
It has undertaken more than 30 national and autonomous regional major scientific and technological projects and sci-tech planning projects.
