North China's Hohhot city sets development goals for 2023

Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has released its development goals for 2023 – promoting economic and social growth for Chinese-style modernization.
Under the city's plan, Hohhot's regional GDP is expected to grow by more than 6 percent in 2023, the added value of industries above a designated scale is to increase by more than 8 percent, while fixed-asset investment will expand by more than 10 percent year-on-year.
In addition, per capita disposable income of urban and rural permanent residents will rise by more than 6 percent in the current year.

In 2023, Hohhot plans to implement more than 1,100 key projects and complete an investment of more than 120 billion yuan ($17.42 billion). Moreover, it will push to introduce more than 400 projects worth 100 million yuan or more each and complete their investment of more than 50 billion yuan.
Furthermore, additional efforts will be made to develop its six major industrial clusters: green agricultural and livestock product processing, clean energy, the modern chemicals industry, new materials and modern equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, and electronic information technology – as well as introducing more related key projects.
To further boost sci-tech innovation, Hohhot will promote the use and development of the National Dairy Technology Innovation Center. It will start construction of the Dairy College of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and a national intellectual property protection center.
To enhance the overall living environment, renovation of 309 old communities is scheduled to be completed by year-end.
