This year, Hohhot city – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – will accelerate the development of its modern service industry, according to local media reports.
The city will build a regional modern consumption center and develop new formats such as an outdoor economy and anice and snow economy.
Under the city's plan, more well-known brands will be introduced to establish regular stores or flagship stores in Hohhot, and further enhance the core competitiveness of the city's business districts.
It will promote the transformation of traditional business districts such as Zhongshan Road and improve and upgrade special retail projects such as Saishang Old Street. It will also continue to create trendy, below-ground shopping and entertainment areas at metro stations.
Hohhot is striving to boost its tourism sector and develop into a regional leisure and holiday center. As such, it has launched a three-year action plan for its six major industries.
It will continue promoting the integration of its cultural and tourism industries by creating a cultural tourism landscape that will be centered around the Chilechuan Grassland in the north and the Laoniuwan Yellow River Grand Canyon in the south.
Hohhot will actively apply to become a dry port-type national logistics hub and a demonstration city for national supply chain innovation and application.
