Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is set to further advance its industrial development, and will strive to be China's cloud valley and the world's dairy capital, as explained during the 14th National People's Congress.
Hohhot, known as China's dairy capital, possesses two dairy giants – Yili and Mengniu – both among the top 10 global dairy enterprises. Hohhot's milk processing industry scale ranks first in the country. In 2022, the operating income of the city's whole dairy industry chain exceeded 220 billion yuan ($31.58 billion). Additionally, its dairy industry cluster was successfully selected as a national advanced manufacturing cluster.
On this basis, the city dedicated itself to building a world-class dairy industry circle. Efforts are being made to complete and implement the Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley and Mengniu Dairy Industry Park projects. The city has also planned to add over 600,000 cows by 2025, expand pasture planting areas, improve pasture quality, as well as promote technology innovation.
As the digital economy developed throughout the years, Hohhot has been working on the development of its big data sector in order to develop itself into China's cloud valley. In 2023, the city is set to promote the construction of the Data Trading Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and speed up the construction on the Horinger Talent Innovation Center.
What's more, Hohhot attaches great importance to attracting talents and it has optimized its business environment through a series of relevant policies in order to do so.
