Hohhot city signs up investment projects worth 62.4b yuan
Contracts for projects worth 62.4 billion yuan ($9.14 billion) were signed by Hohhot - capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – and eight companies at an investment promotions event held in Beijing on March 20, according to the Hohhot Daily.
The projects cover areas including agriculture, the chemicals industry, the big data sector and the services industry.
As the region's capital city, Hohhot aims to take the lead in achieving high-quality economic development.
To attract more investment, efforts are made to transform and upgrade its traditional industries, strengthen its emerging industries and construct pillar industry clusters.
It's also pushing to develop a "6+1" industrial system – which refers to six industry clusters and a modern services industry. Furthermore, Hohhot is speeding up its urban modernization, as well as boosting its business environment.
