Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is to speed up the construction of a modern industrial system, with 1,100 key projects that have a confirmed annual planned investment of 128.4 billion yuan ($18.67 billion).
The dairy industry is widely viewed as being one of Hohhot's most competitive and dynamic areas of business. The city is steadily expanding its green agricultural and livestock product processing industry clusters, with the whole dairy industry chain as the core. It will build and implement 94 major related projects with a total investment of 40 billion yuan.
The Yili Liquid Milk Phase III 5G factory and the Mengniu Phase IX Yashili milk powder factory will start construction this year, while the country's only national dairy industry technology innovation center will be officially put into use in Hohhot.
At the same time, by focusing on building a national logistics hub and a backbone cold chain base, 14 projects including the Hongfu Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, which has an investment of 6 billion yuan, have been launched.
Additionally, Hohhot is speeding up the construction of "China Cloud Valley", and vigorously developing electronic information industry clusters that focus on big data cloud computing. It will also construct 49 major related projects with a total investment of nearly 100 billion yuan.
The financial data center projects for the Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China and the Rural Credit Cooperatives – as well as second-phase data center projects for Telco's China Mobile and China Telecom – are accelerating their construction schedules as well.
