Key projects worth 118b yuan under construction in Hohhot
Construction work on 85 major projects began or resumed on March 31 in Hohhot – capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on March 31 – with a total investment of 118 billion yuan ($17.16 billion), according to a report in the Hohhot Daily.
The projects cover major industrial clusters, including green agricultural and livestock product processing, clean energy and the modern chemicals industry.
They also include new materials and modern equipment manufacturing, biomedicines and electronics information technology, as well as major infrastructure and livelihood sectors.
To date, the city has broken ground or restored construction on 430 projects – including the third phase of Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley Liquid Milk project, the Xinhuan granular silicon project and Datang long-distance heating supply project - with an investment of 16 billion yuan and a construction resumption rate of 83 percent.
Moreover, it's expected that 89 projects will resume work in the second quarter and that 100 percent of major projects in the city will resume work in the first half of the year, with an estimated investment of 46.8 billion yuan.
This year, Hohhot plans to implement more than 1,100 key projects, with an annual planned investment of more than 120 billion yuan.
Of these are 519 major projects at the autonomous region level, with a total investment of 538.3 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 104 billion yuan.
